Training Camp MVP Power Rankings Week 2
It’s week 2 of the Training Camp MVP Power Rankings and a game in the books for the 2023-24 season and that means we have pages of actual game data to ingest to make our rankings up.
Sure the books might give you odds but you’re going to be a step behind unless you’re looking at what the teams are saying in training camp.
Without further ado, here are the Training Camp MVP Power Rankings Vol. 2
1) Eric Beiniemey
Eric Bieniemy is too intense. 53-year-old, 0 time head coach but one-time assistant head coach, Eric Bieniemy scared off a bunch of 20 year olds to the point where they went to talk to Ron Rivera about how intense he is. Let’s put one of those weird training camp/Wes Welker helmets on him and let him try and stop the pass rush since the O-Line isn’t doing too well at it.
2) Greg Zuerlein
Greg the Leg is back baby. The long-time Rams Kicker who spent some quiet years in Dallas emerged in a big way in the Hall of Fame Game going 3 for 3 including 2 field goals of 50+ yards. If there was a more stand-out performance I don’t know who it would be.
3) Either Brandon Cooks or Dak Prescott
Preseason power rankings internal bias time. Are you a “Dak Prescott is just Kirk Cousins person” or a “Dak is a top 10 QB Person”? Well, that will dictate how you think the Dallas offseason is going. All I know is, if I were Cedarian Lamb, I would be feeling just a bit nervous about where the camp hype is.
4) Jordan Love
I’m of two minds on Jordan Love. First, I am going to be inconsolable if the Packers go through three straight HOF QBs since 1991, while the Commanders very much have not. Second, I would love for the Packers to be good and the Jets to be mid after Aaron Rodgers turned into that guy you know from your freshman dorm lobby playing Your Body is a Wonderland.
That’s the top 4 for this week. If you like watching us list stuff, check out this podcast, this one, or maybe whatever we rank next week.
Big takeaway, ranking stuff is fun.
