AEW WrestleDream 2025 – Predictions

Did someone knock me unconscious with a lead pipe? Because I’m having an AEW WrestleDream 2025. That’s right, folks, it’s time for another entry into our year-long wrestling prediction contest. Coming off of WWE Crown Jewel Perth, Mike landed at 51-22 after going 2-3 down under, what a dork. I, on the other hand, won 3-2 and am now 10 matches behind Mike.

As for WrestleDream, we have eight matches to predict, and in a twist, I plan on getting them all right.

This is the Third WrestleDream and the First in St. Louis. I didn’t fact-check that, but I can’t imagine anyone would go to St. Louis twice, so it has to be the first one, right? With all that out of the way, let’s get to the matches.

AEW WrestleDream Predictions

I Quit Match:

Darby Allin vs Jon Moxley

ADAM: Either guy can take the loss on this and be okay, but it does feel like there is more to be gained from a Darby win than a Mox win. They’ve done a pretty good job building this in the last few weeks, including the foreshadowing of Darby using the AEW flag to choke Mox out. I’m guessing Darby wins, we all say ‘Finally, Mox can take that vacation,’ and then Mox is back on Wednesday to start his blood feud against Speedball Mike Bailey.

DARBY ALLIN

MIKE: Not a big Mike Bailey guy, but for some reason, the idea of him being matched up against Mox sounds interesting. There’s no logical reason for Mox to beat Darby in this one. Allin made his big return a couple of months back to continue the good fight and stand up for AEW. I’m not crazy about babyfaces being booked in that spot usually, because it can make them look like a dorky simp for the company, but Darby has managed to ride that fine line. It would be a negative all around if he were to lose. Not only would it kill his momentum, it would continue a Deathrider’s gimmick that is already beyond too long in the tooth. Part of me fears this match because I know these guys are going to go too far. Not only from a danger standpoint, but we are guaranteed to have a couple spots that I will hate for jumping the shark and taking me out of the match. Someone is getting set on fire, blood will be everywhere, and both men will attempt manslaughter at some point.

DARBY ALLIN

AEW Men’s World Championship:

“Hangman” Adam Page (c) vs Samoa Joe

MIKE: AEW needed a challenger for Hangman, so they played the Joe card, and it was the perfect choice. He’s always the perfect choice in these kinds of spots. Why? Because he’s a rare breed of wrestler. He’s great on the mic, great in the ring, a badass, and no matter what he was doing on TV beforehand, he has the ability to immediately make himself come off as a credible challenger. It’s extremely unlikely that Page drops the belt here, and the majority of the audience knows that, but the match is still going to be a banger.

“HANGMAN” ADAM PAGE

ADAM: The thing about every Hangman belt run is the chase is so good, and the reign leaves a lot to be desired (see: 90% of baby faces champs). I’m sure we can all predict this match beat by beat, but it should still be a lot of fun, and they’ll shake hands at the end, showing that Samoa Joe is the ultimate cred guy. I’m just hoping this ends with the Bucks, Swerve, and MJF setting Hangman’s mom on fire so we have some juice leaving the PPV.

“HANGMAN” ADAM PAGE

AEW Women’s World Championship:

Kris Statlander (c) vs “Timeless” Toni Storm

ADAM: The sexual tension in every interaction between Kris Statlander and Tonin Storm reminds me that I am a sexless internet blob. I am such a mark for both wrestlers in this one but I think for once, AEW might ping pong a top belt instead of having it stick to a worker’s waist for 3 years.

“TIMELESS” TONI STORM

MIKE: If this was always the plan for WrestleDream, then I still don’t understand why they had Statlander pin Storm in the four-way. Even so, this match is meant to give Statlander a one-on-one victory over Storm and make her appear like more of a legitimate champ. No idea what comes after this for Kris, “I used to be an alien” Statlander, because the company’s women’s division doesn’t have a lot of acts that stand out above the rest, but hopefully she can pull those challengers up.

KRIS STATLANDER

Jurassic Express (Jack Perry & Luchasaurus) vs The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

MIKE: I don’t know, I’m not trusting this Jack Perry guy. If it wasn’t for the fact that this all being a ruse and him turning on Luchasaurus would make zero sense, I’d swear he was up to something. I’m going to go with Jurassic Express to win the match, but I’m keeping my eye on Luke Perry’s kid.

JURASSIC EXPRESS

ADAM: The post-EVP Young Bucks have been a lot of fun, and there is a lot more awareness and joy in their gimmick right now. Jurassic Express was a really good pop to return, and we should all be glad to see Company Pillar ™ Jack Perry back on the card.

BUT

I’m gonna follow my heart here.

THE YOUNG BUCKS

AEW TNT Championship:

Kyle Fletcher(c) vs Mark Briscoe

ADAM: I appreciate Mark Briscoe for what Mark Briscoe is, and this feels like the correct spot for him on the card. Two years ago, this would have been a 26-minute match in the middle of the show, extending the PPV into its 9th hour. However, Tony Kahn seems to have figured out how to say “No” sometimes, so I think this will end up being a fun 13-15-minute match.

KYLE FLETCHER

MIKE: Briscoe is who he is at this point in his career, and his spot on the card is established. Using him to help continue the push of a new star suits that role.

KYLE FLETCHER

AEW World Tag Team Championships:

Brodido (Bandido & Brody King) (c) vs The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada & Konosuke Takeshita

MIKE: Takeshita is the new IWGP world champion, and that’s not sitting well with the greatest IWGP world champion of all time, Kazuchika Okada. It’s only a matter of time before a decision has to be made and Don Callis turns on one of them. My guess is that they will Zig when we expect the Zag. Okada will continue to be a dick to Takeshita, fueled by jealousy and a fear of getting surpassed. They’ll make all signs point to the group turning on Konosuke, only for them to turn on Okada, claiming he’s old news. Oooh, then Omega and Okada could unite in the face of a common enemy, leading to an eventual big-time tag match of Kenny and Kazu vs Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke! Whoops started fantasy booking again. Anyway, I think that moment is still some ways away, so in the meantime, we will continue to get dissension among the ranks. Having Takeshita and Okada become the tag champs would add another good layer to that story, especially if they have Okada be the one to get pinned when they eventually lose the belts. Thus adding to the Callis family logic that they kicked out Okada because he’s washed. Damn it, I started fantasy booking again! Sorry folks.

“THE RAINMAKER” KAZUCHIKA OKADA & KONOSUKE TAKESHITA

ADAM: It is very “AEW Branded” if they swerve and kick Okada out after all the direction towards the opposite. The much more fun outcome is if Brodido loses. Rodrick Strong or Aaron Solo screws them because now Rodrick Strong or Aaron Solo is in the Callis family, too. I’m going to go with a similar guess I had, that I got wrong, for Blood Money Pearth, and guess that the miscommunications between Okada and Takeshita cause them to lose the match.

BRODITO

Jamie Hayter vs Thekla

ADAM: I’m really glad to see Hayter back on TV and that she raided Lurleen Lumpkin’s closet, but it looks like Thekla is getting a mini rocket right into the hard iron ceiling of “You’re not beating Toni Storm or Mercedes Monè.

THEKLA

MIKE: Hayter has never seemed to regain the momentum she had prior to getting injured in 2024 and being forced to relinquish the world title. Yeah, remember that? She was world champ. Meanwhile, Adam’s pretty spot on that Thekla is the one getting pushed up the ladder right now.

THEKLA

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin & MVP) vs The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)

MIKE: Should be a good match. That’s all the analysis I have, honestly. I’m just not invested in this story, and it has felt like a clear step back for The Hurt Syndicate.

THE HURT SYNDICATE

ADAM: I don’t know what it is about professional wrestling, but when bookers see two black factions, they either merge them or put them in a feud against each other. I’m with Mike, this angel hasn’t done much for me and seems to have originated due in part to a white guy, but hey, it should be a fun match to watch, and sometimes wrestling doesn’t need to be Citizen Kane (see what I did there, Mike?).

THE HURT SYNDICATE

There you have it, folks, eight Matches…. wait, eight? That’s it? Just eight? Has anyone checked on Tony Kahn? Quick, someone tweet that Trevor Lawrence is bad or that AEW has been on the down slope since Brawl Out. If we don’t hear back within 90 seconds, it may be time for a wellness check.

What was I saying?

Oh Yeah!

Eight matches, three disagreements. I can’t make up all the distance on Mike this time but I will chew away at his lead or plant a bloody knife in his car and call the cops before Wrestlemania, thus rendering the whole contest invalid due to arrest.
