*Comes out of the fog*

By god its been so long. Do people still wrestle? Who is the president? Has he made any jokes about women’s hockey?

Folks, it is time for us to FINALLY BE BACK for some hot Elimination Chamber predictions. Mike and Adam of Talent Alone Fame are here to predict all the matches on the Elimination Chamber card as part of their year-long contest to be the best at predicting wrestling.

Out of War Games, our last predictions, Mike went 2-2 (56-30) and I went 2-2 (47-39) which is great because we could have predicted nothing and nothing would have changed.

BUT

Now its February, and we are onto Chicago to duck gang violence and watch wrasslin’.

Enough stalling, lets get to the picks.

Elimination Chamber Match for WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania:

Randy Orton vs LA Knight vs Cody Rhodes vs Je’Von Evans vs Trick Williams vs Jey Uso

MIKE: Right off the bat we can eliminate some of these guys as possible winners. First, LA Knight, because Triple H seems to hate him and gets a kick out of leaving him in the spot of, “yeah you’re super over and probably deserve a big title match, but I’m just gonna keep dangling the carrot and having you lose”. I like the addition of fresh faces like Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams, but I don’t expect either to win. I do imagine, however, that both men will get some spotlight moments in the match to give them an optical boost with the audience, with Trick possibly being the last man eliminated. With that said, Cody seems like the betting favorite here. The only issue for me is that McIntyre vs Rhodes straight up at Mania doesn’t feel like a sexy match. That’s why I’m going with the grizzled vet Randy Orton to win this one, after Cody gets screwed thanks to some interference by Drew. Thus opening up the door for him to make his case to be added to the Mania match and make it a Triple threat full of star power.

RANDY ORTON

ADAM: I know you all at home haven’t known Mike as well as I do, but for a little insight here:

Mike will fantasy-book a triple threat match at every Mania for all of human time. Fortunately for me, it leaves wide open the blind spot here, so I can pick the eventual winner.

CODY RHODES

MIKE: For the record, I always prefer singles world title matches at Mania. It’s the biggest show of the year, so it should feel like a big showdown between two top acts. However, outside of Drew McIntyre vs the ghost of Dusty Rhodes, there’s no possible singles match on that roster that won’t feel second-rate compared to The Tribal Chief vs The Best In The World. OOOH AAAH ITS COLBERRIN TIME!!

Elimination Chamber Match for WWE Women’s Championship Match at WrestleMania:

Tiffany Stratton vs Rhea Ripley vs Kiana James vs Asuka vs Raquel Rodriguez vs Alexa Bliss

ADAM: Much tougher match to predict than the Men’s chamber (editor note: can we rename the website to The Men’s Chamber?). Kiana James is really the only person in this match who isn’t a made (wo)man, so she’s getting cut from contention. Outside of that anyone really has a shot. I think there is a top-2 by the odds entrants and I’m going to go with the one most likely to annoy Mike if it happens.

TIFFANY STRATTON

MIKE: Adam is correct in assuming that I have no desire to see Tiffany Stratton and her one-note performance center factory-made Tiffy Time character back in the title picture. So while she’s a strong contender to win, I refuse to pick her out of protest. My heart wants Asuka, but my brain knows there’s no chance that happens. That boils it down to Rhea Ripkey or Alex Bliss and, oh, that’s right, Jade Carroll is the champ. Don’t tease me, WWE, give me that muscled-up and chiseled Greek goddess showdown that we all want. Mamí vs Cargill is a Wrestlemania-caliber match. Don’t overthink this, Triple H.

RHEA RIPLEY

World Heavyweight Championship Match:

CM Punk (c) vs Finn Balor

MIKE: It’s been great to see Balor getting some main event love for the first time in years; however, there is no way the company will do anything that diverts from the big time CM Punk vs Roman Reigns showdown closing out Mania weekend. The point of this match, and how Balor comes up short, will be used to add story to what seems like an inevitable breakup of the Judgement Day.

CM PUNK

ADAM: I have nothing of note to add to what Mike said here. This will be a great match, and Finn will lose, and CM Punk will stare into an endless void and think about how he is a major player in a company owned by Trump voters that is beholden to millions of dollars in Saudi money.

CM PUNK

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match:

Becky Lynch (c) vs AJ Lee

ADAM: This match reeks of chichanary. That doesn’t have to be a bad thing, Lynch with her feet of the ropes, ref misses a tap, the rare female low blow, but I doubt that Lee goes 3-0 on Lynch and walks out with the belt. I bet we see this again either at or before Mania and Lee gets her win back then.

BECKY LYNCH

MIKE: In agreement with Adam here. I’m not sure what else they could have planned for Becky at Mania other than her vs AJ Lee once again, probably in a match with some kind of stipulation. I’m guessing a dog collar match.  Sure, sounds unlikely, but if Lynch cuts a promo on Monday telling CM Punk to “keep his bitch on a leash”, I’m going to look like a genius.

BECKY LYNCH

4 Matches and 2 disagreements. If I don’t win both of these I might hire someone to Tonya Harding Mike so I can make up the difference.

Enjoy the PLE folks and come back here next time for more predictions.
